UV studies and diagnostics
As a result of the institutional concern and interest to incorporate the issue of conciliation and co-responsibility at the University of Valencia, the Vice-Rector's Office for Equality, Diversity and Sustainability and the Equality Unit have commissioned several studies.
GENDER GAP
- Gender Salary Gap Study in Spanish public universities, carried out in 2021 by the Ministry of Universities, ANECA and CRUE with the participation of 20 universities, including the University of Valencia.
- Study on gender pay gap at the University of Valencia, 2015. Pioneering study in the entire Spanish university system coordinated by professor Capitolina Díaz, together with Marcela Jabbaz and Teresa Samper, professors of the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology of the UV .
- It was highlighted that one of the main causes of the salary differences between men and women in our university community is directly attributable to problems related to the reconciliation of family life, linked to very little co-responsibility (especially in PDI).
It was based on a statistical analysis from the payrolls of the university staff, as well as a qualitative analysis from interviews that sought to understand the professional careers of men and women.
CONCILIATION AND CO-RESPONSABILITY
Exploratory study in 2018, combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Carried out by the professors Alicia Villar and Sandra Obiol, from the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology of the UV
- Study on personal, family and professional conciliation of the people who work at the University of Valencia
- from a quantitative perspective: construction of a system of indicators for analysis and evaluation of the situation of the staff of the University of Valencia from a gender perspective. from a qualitative perspective: in-depth interviews to explore the world of meanings of the relationship between academic and personal and family life, both in the PAS and in the PDI.
3) Surveys "Conciliation and co-responsibility between the university community at the University of Valencia" carried out in October 2019 to all UV personnel.
