The Interlibrary Loan service is a collaborative service between libraries that enables users to obtain original documents or copies of articles, book chapters and other materials not available in the libraries of the University of Valencia. It also facilitates the provision of documents to other libraries, hospitals and institutions that request them, in accordance with current regulations and the conditions established by each institution.
The purpose of this service is:
- To provide users at the University of Valencia in the Health Sciences area (academic staff, administrative staff and students) with documents that are not available in the University’s libraries.
- To provide healthcare professionals and external centres, such as hospitals, health centres and other institutions, with copies of articles, book chapters and other documents, in PDF or paper format.
The Biblioteca de Ciències de la Salut Pelegrí Casanova acts as the supplying library for the University Clinical Hospital of Valencia.
The Interlibrary Loan service only handles the retrieval of documents not available in the libraries of the University of Valencia. If the requested document is an electronic resource accessible online to members of the University of Valencia (for example, an article from an electronic journal), it is the user’s responsibility to locate and download it via the Trobes catalogue.
Requests must be submitted via the Interlibrary Loan application form. You can view the terms of service and the associated fees (access the registration form).
To use the service:
- Users must register in the section corresponding to the Health Sciences Area.
- They will then receive an email containing their login details.
- From that point onwards, they can complete the request form with the details of the item requested.
