The Library has means of reproduction to provide users with copies in the best possible conditions from the historical collection from which they are being requested and, at the same time, to guarantee their preservation, avoiding excessive manipulation of the document or unnecessary exposure to intense light or heat.

The reproductions will reflect the characteristics and the conservation status of the originals and problems such as acidity, lost inks, printing or loss of information due to the binding.

Direct copies are prohibited in the case of manuscripts, incunabula and prints from the 16th to the 19th centuries, in works published in the early years of the 20th century and in those cases where it is not recommended due to conservation reasons.

Qualified staff will be in charge of making the copies.

Obtaining reproductions of bibliographic material does not imply permission for publication, which must be requested to the Library following the established procedure [permission to publish the reproductions obtained]

Restrictions and limitations that apply to the reproduction of certain documents from the collection of the Historical Library comply with the current legislation and with the measures adopted for its preservation and conservation.
