  • JCR 2018


    New JCR edition

    On June 20 was launched the new JCR edition, corresponding to 2018. The Clarivate Analytics tool offers a ranking of scientific journals based on the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) and citations received by publications. This new edition incorporates a total of 11,877 journals (283 of new inclusion), with its content indexed to Web of Science.

    Libraries opened on June 24

    On June 24, day of San Juan, the libraries with 24 hours schedule will remain open: Social Sciences (Campus Tarongers), Humanities (Campus Blasco Ibáñez) and Sciences (Campus Burjassot). Likewise, the Health Sciences Library will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Library of Education and the rest of the SBD libraries will remain closed.

    REBIUN awards for good practices

    The Network of Spanish Universities Libraries REBIUN creates the awards for recognition of good practices in the library field with the aim of recognizing the services and activities of libraries in non-university environments in Spain. Aimed at non-university libraries and similar nature libraries, the award not only seeks a greater presence of REBIUN in the library world, but also favors and stimulates exchanges of knowledge, experiences and best practices among libraries and non-university library bodies.

    Annual call CCB Seal

    The Consejo de Cooperación Bibliotecaria announces the III edition of the CCB Seal for 2019. This seal distinguishes the innovative projects of different types of libraries depending on the different Spanish public administrations. Innovative projects already implemented and developed in Spain will be recognized. This will give visibility to libraries in society and will serve as model of good practices.

    Donation of Rafael Ferrer i Bigné Archive

    On Tuesday, June 11, the heirs of the poet Rafael Ferrer i Bigné donated the family archive to the University of Valencia so that it could be consulted by researchers and university students interested in the history of Valencian literature. The agreement with the rector was signed by his great-granddaughters, Isabel Soler (director of the Joan Reglà Humanitats Library until his retirement) and María Paz Soler (former director of the González Martí National Museum of Ceramics.)

    Delivery of the iPad to Cristina Elena, student of the Double Degree in Law and Political Science

    Tuesday, June 11, the rector of the Universitat de València, Mavi Mestre Escrivá, gave the student Cristina Elena Sierra (Double Degree in Law and Political Science and Public Administration) the Ipad 9.7 " she had won by responding the satisfaction survey of the Library and Documentation Service. At the delivery, which took place in the La Nau building, also attended Antonio Ariño Villaroya, vice-chancellor of Culture and Sport; Victoria García Esteve, director of the Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació; and SBD Self-evaluation Committee staff.
