Workshop at the Natural History Museum UV-Alumni Comparteix (UV student collective).
Under the guidance of the director of the Museum, professor and Alumni Anna Garcia Forner, we will learn about the microscopic world with the use of magnifying glasses and microscopes. With several samples of sand from our beaches, we will identify organisms that live in them, recognise and classify them, and learn about the quality of our beaches through the diversity of the organisms that inhabit them.
We will introduce notions of Micropalaeontology as a branch of Palaeontology where microfossils are fundamental for the study of the past and the present. In the same way, we will address concepts such as ecology, sustainability and pollution, since through different samples of beach sand we will be able to understand the relationship between pollution and the decrease of diversity.
The activity requires prior registration (online), but it is free of charge.
