Schedules

  • What are the opening hours of the Library? The usual schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There are extraordinary opening periods on weekends and 24 hours. It can be consulted on the website and social networks.
  • Which is the loan schedule? From Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

University cards and users

  • Can I enter the library if I am not a member of the UV? The Library is a public space and anyone can enter. The UV card is only required to use the facilities during special opening periods.
  • Who can take documents on loan? The entire university community [students, PDI (teaching and research staff) and PAS (administrative and service staff)], Amics-Antics Alumnes, primary and secondary school teachers, the institutions with which there is an agreement, etc. (+info).
  • I've lost the university card. What should I do? You must notify the Secretary of the Faculty where you are enrolled and go to the Santander Bank of the campus to obtain a duplicate. While the new card is being processed, books can be borrowed by teaching the DNI

Location and position of the materials

  • How are the books physically located? When searching the Trobes catalogue, the results obtained indicate the LOCATION (library and plant) and the SIGNATURE, which is what helps to locate it physically inside the shelf.

If in doubt when locating the document, request the help of the library staff.

You can also use Trobes +, the UV library search engine, through which you can find not only documents included in Trobes, but also those included in the RODERIC repository, e-books, magazine articles, database contents, etc.  It allows you to search similarly to Google, with a simple search box.

  • Can I pick up books from bookshelves? Yes, access is free. When you have finished using them, do not put them back in their place. You should leave them instead in the trolleys enabled for this purpose.
  • Where do I request documents with a “Deposit” location? They must be requested through a ticket:
  • HU D0 at the loan desk (room 0.2).
  • HU D1 and Thesis, on the 1st floor (room 1.2)
  • HU D2, and HU PH on the 2nd floor (room 2.2)
  • Magazines before 1998 and weekly magazines on the 3rd floor (room 3.1)
  • And the books of the Depository Library? You have to reserve them through “My Account”, logging in Trobes. You can collect them at the loan desk, like any other reservation.
  • Are there any movies? Can I borrow them? Yes, they are located on the ground floor (room 0.1) and are identified in the catalog by the acronym “M/PC/”. They are lent for 3 days and can be renewed up to 6 times.
  • Where do I find magazines and periodicals? They are located in the newspaper archive (Hemeroteca), on the 3rd floor of the building. They are organised alphabetically by title and distributed in two rooms (from A-I in room 3.1, from J-Z in room 3.2). They are in free access from the year 1998 onwards. To consult previous years (on deposit), contact the library staff and fill out a ticket. Magazines are not lend for using them at home.

Loan, return, reservations...

  • Where can I lend and return documents? At the loan desk, located on the ground floor (room 0.2). There is also a self-loan and return machine.
  • How many documents can I borrow? Undergraduate students can take a maximum of 10 documents (between books and DVDs) and a laptop; Master’s Degree students up to 30 documents and 1 laptop. In the case of other collectives, check the website.
  • How long are they lent? In the case of Undergraduate students, both manuals and monographs are lent for 15 days, with the possibility of renewing them up to a maximum of 6 times. Master’s Degree students can borrow them for up to 30 days, with the possibility of renewing them 6 times, provided they have no reservation.
  • Can I reserve documents? Yes, you can reserve the documents that are lent to other users; in the case of those located in the Deposit Library, they are always reserved even if they are available. The maximum number of simultaneous reservations in the case of students is 8. In the case of other collectives, check the website

Acquisitions and donations

  • Can I make a donation? Yes, but the Library reserves the right to accept or reject all or part of the donation, taking into account the interest for the institution and the costs of the technical process. You must fill out the form and carefully read the accompanying annex.
  • Can I suggest buying a book? Yes, through My account on Trobes after logging in, where you can also check the status of the request. The fact of suggesting a purchase does not imply the reservation of the requested book.

Laptops

  • Where can I borrow and return a laptop? At the same desk on the ground floor where the rest of the documents are loaned and returned. In addition to the UV card you need to present your ID.
  • How long are laptops lent? 1 day. If they are borrowed on Friday, they can be returned on Monday. 
  • Are there any computers for consultation? Yes, on the ground floor, behind the loan desk. To use them, you must identify yourself with an LDAP username and password.

Spaces

  • Are there any group work zones? Yes, in room 0.3 on the ground floor. There are also group work booths in room 3.1 (3rd floor). The booths can not be reserved, you just have to ask for the key in the Information Point of room 3.1.  To be able to use them you must be at least 2 people and be accredited as members of the UV through the university card. The booths are not soundproofed and other users can enter until the maximum capacity of 10 people is completed.
  • Can I eat or drink in the Library? Is there an area enabled for it? No. It is forbidden to enter any type of food or drink, except water, to avoid spoiling the material or facilities.
  • Can I copy, scan, print? Photocopiers are in the hallways of all floors. You can find photocopiers that use coins or card, which you can obtained in the reprography services of the Faculty of Geography and History. The scanners are located in rooms 1.2, 2.2 and 3.1 and you must present an identification at the Information Point in order to use them.
  • Is there any point of computer assistance in the Library? Yes, on the ground floor (room 0.2), behind the loan desk, there is the SIA (Student Computer Service), which can be visited personally on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 12.30 to 14.30. and from 4 to 6 p.m. You can also make inquiries virtually through the mail website, by pressing the "Incidencias-C.A.U" option.
