The Library has a great newspaper library in which we can find a large and, in many cases a complete collection of Valencian newspapers, primarily from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as a rich and varied archive of journals, among which we can mention the famous scientific journal of the 17th century “Journal des Sçavans”, the bulletins of the History and Language Academies, the "Ilustración española y Americana" of the 19th century and early 20th, the "Semana gráfica", "La Esfera" the “Revista de Occidente” or the “Revista de archivos, bibliotecas y museos”, to name a few, and that are a faithful witness of knowledge and culture over the years.

There is a project for digitalising all the press preserved in our collection; this difficult task is being done at present, and some newspapers can be consulted in this Digital Library "Somni"such as "Diario de Valencia" from 1790 to 1834.
