ALMA / PRIMO is the platform that will replace Millennium integrated library system, which has been the library management software in our institution for over 15 years. The new platform is scheduled to perform at the end of July.

ALMA is a new generation service platform hosted in the cloud that represents an evolution towards new forms of management and, above all, to a greater integration of functions. It is specially designed to group resources, electronic and printed, with a guarantee of robustness and efficiency. This allows the Library to offer a better service to the whole university community, in addition to the functionalities already in practice in the previous catalogue.  It will also facilitate the librarians' tasks by improving workflows in the management of the collections of the University of Valencia, both printed and electronic.

ALMA / PRIMO platform is currently the highest rated software by European and American academic institutions.

The Universitat de València, Universitat d'Alacant, Universitat Jaume I and Universidad Miguel Hernández signed the platform's joint subscription contract. As the Universitat Politècnica de València already works with ALMA, throughout 2020 all Valencian public university libraries will use the same management platform. This cooperation will allow to share experiences, training, resources and services.

We are confident that this change, effective between the 21st and 24^th of July, will result in better services for the Valencian university community.
