Within the transformative agreement negotiated by CRUE-CSIC, the University of Valencia has renewed the agreement with the publisher ACS in February 2025, which will allow UV researchers to publish in open access in hybrid and gold journals (full Open Access) without paying APC fees (Article Processing Charges).

However, ACS Publications advises that the activation of the open access publication management panel for the new 2025-2027 contract will be delayed, and advises authors to publish under subscription (closed) until the contract is signed, at which point it will be possible to revert to open access retroactively from 1-1-2025 if articles meet the eligibility criteria.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

As it is a limited fund, the general requirements to make use of this financing model are:

• The  corresponding author of the article for which the discount is requested must be UV staff at the time of sending the article and have an email with the domain @uv.es (or @valencia.edu ).
• The agreement is valid for publishing in hybrid and gold journals.
• The license to publish is Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY 4.0).
