The person responsible for the institutional account on Facebook will be able to take action on the Administration and Editing profiles defined on this social network. At the same time and under their control, this person will be able to grant other members of the entity, services or unity the Editor profile for the institutional account. All the needed tasks can be carried out from this profile with a correct management of the page, with the exception of granting or removing permissions of other managers. In the case of the corporative account/s on Facebook of the Universitat de València, the right for the Administration profile is reserved to the Web and Marketing Unit, responsible of the coordination of all the corporative accounts in social networks of the UV.

It depends on the type of account, but it is recommended that no more than five daily posts are made. As long as it is possible, the entries will include links to online resources of the Universitat de València (URL under the uv.es domain) and will preferable be accompanied by visual information.

Most part of the information to be published on Facebook should come from entities, services or units of the UV. In particular:

  • Publication of new entries (named posts) in the official webpage.
  • Updates of the web or site, new sections, publications, etc.
  • Publication of new videos, photos, presentations, etc., whether their own or from the Internet.
  • Live broadcasting of events: links to pages from which to “stream” specific events.

The automated publication of tweets from Twitter is prohibited on Facebook because wording is different in both tools. Twitter is usually based on citing other users and its syntax (RT, TT, MT, etc.) is different, what means that if the content was syndicated it could be taken out of context.

It is recommended to press “Like” in the positive comments that the followers do in the wall of the official account to show that they are being read.

On the other hand, in order to favour the spreading of the rest of accounts and channels, it is recommended to use the following set of actions:

  • Adding as “liked” pages the pages of the Universitat de València related to the account (e.g. those pages about the masters should link the Postgraduate Services, the centre they are assigned to, etc.).
  • Mentioning other pages typing (@) before the name of the page that wants to be included in the update.
  • Adding tabs to the webpage in order to access the repository of the entity, service or unit (YouTube, Instagram, Slideshare, Twitter, etc.), if existing.
  • Including the desired HTML code so that external content can be added and integrated on Facebook.
