Exhibition "Public art/public university"

The "Joan Lluís Vives" Library of Psychology and Sport is offering, from Monday 24th, the exhibition Public art/public university, which will remain open until March 26th.

The exhibition is an initiative of the University of Valencia that aims to energize the spaces of the Burjassot and Blasco Ibáñez campuses and transform the university environment into a place of artistic intervention open to society.

The organization has selected a series of artistic projects such as "NO PUEDO MÁS" by the artist Noé Bermejo. This project deals with vulnerability as an empowering tool from a gender perspective.

The Libraries and Documentation Service from the UV and Clarivate have organised 2 training sessions for all members of the UV university community: 18 february 2025

Place: Room F1.2  of the Faculty of Geography ans History. Blasco Ibañez Campus

13:00h/14:30h. Primary sources and Secondary sources for humanities and social sciences  in the UV. Would you like to explore humanities from a different perspective? Do you feel lost with systematic reviews? Don’t you know where to start? In just one hour, you will learn tricks and methodologies to improve your searches and obtain the best results.

16:00h/17:00h Advanced sources for health and psychology in the UV. Do you want to squeeze the most out of the Health platforms and Psycinfo in the ProQuest platform? Status of the renewal of APCs signed by CRUE

Given the numerous queries received by our researchers asking about the renewal of the transformative agreements with the publishers Springer Nature, Wiley, ACS and Elsevier to publish openly at no cost (APCs), the Library informs that the situation with each publisher is different and is the following:

-There are pre-agreements with Springer and Wiley that seem to materialize in the coming weeks:

-Springer: the agreement has not yet been signed, but the publisher is already allowing you to apply for funding for open access articles in hybrid journals, since the beginning of January, with absolute normality.

-Wiley: it has not yet been formalized and the publisher has interrupted the service to request funding for open access articles in hybrid journals.

-With Elsevier, the positions are still very far apart and there is a risk of ending without an agreement, losing APCs and even access to the Freedom Collection at the end of January.

-There is no agreement with ACS but negotiations continue.

At this time we regret that we cannot be more specific, since the negotiations are carried out at national level within the framework of the Crue.
