Monographs

Monographs are ordered following the UN categories identified by a Roman numeral, followed on occasions by a capital letter (eg. V identifies International Law).

Within each subject, the monographs are oredered by the year of publication, identified by its last two digits, and the number of the title.

Both codes are placed on a label on the spine of the publication.

Thus, a monograph identified with the following key tells us that it is a publication on World Economy (II.C), published in 2003.

You will find this code in Trobes when you search the publication.

Check the complete list of UN categories.

Periodicals

The journals and periodicals published by the United Nations kept at Onubib are located in open access at the reading room on the 2nd floor south wing of the Gregori Maians Social Science Library.

The y can't be lent, but can be consulted in the library.

They are ordered following thel UN subject classification system (UNBIS).

Within each subject, each title is assigned a number, preceded by the letter H on the title page.

Each journal has two labels, one that refers to the subject and year of publication, and another that refers to the title of the publication.

Thus, a publication identified with these labels indicates:

That it is the publication Monthly Bulletin of statistics, identified with the number 110 within its thematic category.

That, following the UN classification, it is a publication of International Statistics, identified by the XVII code.

And that this specific issue was published in  2012.
