More than 150 experts will participate on 5 and 6 July on the 12th International Workshop on Sensors and Molecular Recognition. The sessions will take place at the Conference room of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Universitat de València. The workshop is organised by the Inter-university Institute for Molecular Recognition and Technological Development (IDM), which is a consortium between the Universitat de València and the Universitat Politècnica de València.

The Vice-principal for Innovation and Transference of the Universitat de València, Mª Dolores Real, will inaugurate the workshop at 9 a.m. on Thursday. The sessions will be presided over by Ana María Costero (professor of Organic Chemistry at the Universitat de València) and Ramón Martínez Máñez (professor of the Universitat Politècnica de València and Jaume I Award in new technologies 2018). They both manage the IDM.

The workshop counts with 158 with registrants, five plenary lectures, 19 sessions and 100 posters.

In October 2007, a meeting was first organised for research groups addressing design, mixtures and assessment of sensors for different applications. Since then, a yearly edition has been organised, in which the achievements in the field of sensors are outlined, as well as the results and experiences of the research groups in different areas such as Chemistry, Biology, the environment, Pharmacy and Engineering.
