This on-site reunion of the FORTHEM universities alliance will be held at the Universitat de València on 24 and 25 April with the objective of maintaining the advance in cooperation and decision-making, hoping to guarantee the short and long-term success of this joint project between nine European universities.

This conference of principals is celebrated on-site once–a-year with the objective of giving visibility to FORTHEM in the universities. Last year, it was held for the first time in the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) and in 2024 the Universitat de València will be the one to host it. With the intention of raising visibility of FORTHEM, in this occasion, a parallel reunion of the heads of Communication of the nine different FORTHEM universities was also held. They will share objectives, results and lines of work with a view to drawing up a communication plan for the network.

The conference of principals and the reunion of FORTHEM Communications will be held through Wednesday, 24 and Thursday, 25 April, following an intense planning of informative sessions, work reunions, coordination commissions... A programme in which visits to the city of València and the emblematic spaces of the UV such as La Nau or the Science Park are also planned. Furthermore, an open concert of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Universitat de València will also be held at the La Nau Cultural Centre on 25 April, at 19:00.

5 years of FORTHEM

The FORTHEM Alliance (Fostering Outreach within European Regions, Transnational Higher Education and Mobility) was created in 2019 and is made up of nine universities: Dijon (France), Jyväskylä (Finland), Mainz (Germany), Opole (Poland), Palermo (Italy), Riga (Latvia), Valencia (Spain), Universitetet i Agder (Norway) and Universitatea Lucian Blaga din Sibiu (Romania).

The Alliance is a network of institutions that possess dynamism and flexibility to experiment innovative ways to collaborate. Thanks to this Alliance, the Universitat de València has been able to intensify the international collaboration of its courses and its research. Its students, teachers and administrative personnel can participate in a series of activities with their counterparts from the associated universities: long and short mobility stays, internships, civic commitment projects, on-line and hybrid courses, team teaching, exchange of good practices, training or teaching weeks, job shadowing...
