The Office of the Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transfer has announced the Uvemprén Rural programme and allocates 24,000 euros to develop entrepreneurial practices in rural areas and 6,000 euros in prizes with the sponsorship of the Provincial Council of Valencia.

Students of the Universitat de València interested in rural entrepreneurship can now submit their application to participate in the Uvemprén (UVentrepreneurship) Rural, the Rural, Active and Sustainable Entrepreneurship Programme organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transfer of the Universitat de València with the sponsorship of the Provincial Council of Valencia and in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-Principal for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employability and ADEIT (UV’s internship service).

As in previous editions, students with an innovative project or idea can choose their internship placement from among the entities and companies available or they can search for and select the host company or institution form among those that meet the requirement of being located in a municipality in the province of Valencia with less than 3,000 inhabitants and propose it in the application as the destination for the internship. To participate in UVemprén Rural, students must be enrolled in an official degree, master's or doctoral programme at the Universitat de València and meet the specific requirements of their degree for internships, as well as not having an employment or service contract with the company or entity in which the internship will be carried out and not being registered in the municipality where the internship will be carried out.

The programme offers grants of 1,000 euros per month for internships lasting a minimum of one month and a maximum of three months. In addition, it will also finance a certificate in innovative entrepreneurship techniques in rural environments.

In the call for this 3rd edition, 4 prizes have been established: a prize of 3,000 euros for the best UVemprén Rural project and 3 other prizes of 1,000 euros each to recognise the best innovative project, the best triple impact project and the best female entrepreneurship project.

UVemprén Rural is an intensive training programme in entrepreneurship whose main goal is to select the best entrepreneurial initiatives and business ideas applicable to rural areas, which are in line with the sustainable development goals and targets set out in the SDG 2030. For this reason, the programme relies on the participation of companies, town councils and associations of municipalities that offer to host students for internships in municipalities with less than 3,000 inhabitants or at risk of depopulation.

The deadline for submitting applications is 16th September 2022. All the information about the programme and the instruction for filling in the application form can be found here.
