Adela Cortina, first woman being awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Deusto

The professor of Ethics and Political Philosophy of the Universitat de València, Adela Cortina, will be the first woman being awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Deusto. The ceremony will be held on Thursday 20 October. Deusto highlights the work of Adela Cortina “in economic and enterprise ethics”.

This year, the University of Deusto celebrates the 100th anniversary of its Faculty of Business Sciences, known as Commercial. The guiding threads of the programme of activities are the values that have been transmitted to the generations of students since the origins of the Commercial of Deusto in 1916.

Adela Cortina is a philosopher, member of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences and head of the ÉTNEOR Foundation. She was awarded the Jovellanos Essay Prize in 2007 and the National Award of Essay in 2014 for her work ‘What is the purpose of Ethics?’
