The point has been presented by the vice-principal of Academic Management and Teaching Staff, Ernest Cano. In the next few months, 115 full professors will be eligible for a chair; 39 doctors employed will aspire to being full member; 69 temporary doctors employed will try to have a doctor contract; 10 doctors assistants, to a title; 11 doctors assistants to a doctor contract; and 27 assistantship to a contract for temporary doctors.

The stabilization of researchers, who has ended Ramón y Cajal programme, has also been studied. As Ernest Cano has explained, three seats expected in the 2017 offer have been convened. Moreover, other seats of 2017 and later still have to been activated.

Additionally, within the stabilization programme of adjunct professors, there will be 10 seats to aim for nomination. They are adjunct professors that have been 12 years practising their profession, with the needed accreditation and in loss making areas.

Otherwise, the point related to the agreement on the improvement of the adjunct professor working conditions have been temporally withdrawn. The vice-principal has informed of the Assembly celebrated by adjunct professor this Monday (23 April). There it has decided to continue the strike of this group (with 51’6% of the votes in favour and 48’4% votes against). Ernesto Cano has remarked that the document of improvement of the adjunct professor working conditions is not an offer from the institution, but an agreement of the negotiating table. The Consell de Direcció and majority unions are there represented. The effectiveness of the consensus document was conditional on the temporally strike suspension.

Ernest Cano has insisted that the withdrawal of the point is temporary and it will continue the dialogue. In fact, a budgetary reserve has been realized. It will allow to apply the wage increases agreed at the right moment. As long as the permission is available by the Generalitat.

Different members of the Governing Council have expressed their concern about a situation that has prolonged already three months. That is damaging particularly the students.
