Carlos Esplugues joins the Cloister of the University of Vigo as an honorary professor

Carlos Esplugues, Professor of Private International Law at the Universitat de València, has joined the Faculty of the University of Vigo as an honorary lecturer. He is the first professor of the aforementioned subject to join the Cloister of Vigo.

The academic event was held on July 19, and recognised the academic, research and management merits at national and international level.

Carlos Esplugues is a member of the MedArbValencia group and director of the master’s degree in Law, Business and Justice. Between 2013 and 2017 he was president of the AEPDIRI (Spanish Association of Teachers of International Law and International Relations). In 2016, he was invited to participate as an expert in the workshop on the implementation of the Directive on Mediation of the European Union, held in the European Parliament.

Professor Esplugues holds a master’s degree in law from Harvard Law School and a Master of Sciences in Law from Edinburgh University. He is the author of almost two hundred publications in the field of Private International Law. He is regularly invited to several universities in Europe, America, and Asia.
