The López Piñero Inter-University Institute obtained the highest qualification from the scientific quality evaluation agencies (ANECA). On November 2017, the three universities agreed on cooperating for setting up the inter-university institute.

The new inter-university institute manages a network of specialised groups in fields such as Medicine and Science history, scientific communication, documentation, terminology, linguistics and translation, Sociology and Philosophy of Science, studies on sustainability and the environment, scientific dissemination, and science teaching approach. It will allow a promotion of current collaborations between the groups and the disciplines, as well as a consolidation of ongoing scientific heritage management and dissemination activities and current postgraduate and doctorate programmes.

Institute members have encouraged the university community to take part in the activities planned for November and December 2018 as a way of celebrating the Institute’s setting up.

New activities for introducing new projects of the centre will be carried out next year.
