In November, as in previous years, Josep L. Barona offers postgraduate courses on The Origins of Modern Science indended for postgraduate and doctorate students on Science and Technology in the University of Kumamoto.

Professor Barona will also give a conference-colloquium on ‘Historical Origins of Public Health’ in the Faculty of Health Sciences, as well as a research seminar on ‘Tadasu Saiki (1876-1959). Science and Nutritional Policies in interwar Japan’ in the National Institute of Health and Nutrition of Tokio to explain his researches on the early physiology of nutrition and food policies in the between war Japan.

Between 2016 and 2020, Josep L. Barona has been appointed visiting professor in the International Research Organization for Advanced Science and Technology (IROAST, Kumamoto, Japan). He takes part in some scientific and academic activities to introduce science history into Japanese postgraduate studies and so strengthen the links with the Universitat de València.
