The Cultural Centre La Nau hosts a debate about caricature as a weapon of mass communication

More than 3.000 people have already visited the exhibition “Revista La Traca. La transgresión como norma”, (La Traca Magazine. Transgression as a rule) that was opened last 5 October at the Centre Cultural Centre La Nau. In addition to this exhibition, the historical building of the Universitat, will hold on Wednesday 26 October, at 19 hours, the round table “La caricatura, un arma de comunicación masiva” (Caricature, a weapon of mass communication), that will feature the intervention of Fausta Gantús, from the Mora Research Institute (Mexico); Luciano Ramírez, from the University of Aguascalientes (Mexico) and the commissioners of the exhibition, Francesc A. Martínez and Antonio Laguna, professors of the Universitat de València and the University of Castilla-La Mancha, respectively.

The exhibition about the seminar, that have been produced by the UV, constitutes the first showing about this publication, which came into existence at the end of the 19th century and the end of the Second Republic. The exhibition recovers extensive documentation that has not been published, such as covers and full editions of “La Traca”, all of them high-value models that could be saved, so most of them were destroyed during Franco’s regime. The exhibition will be possible to visit until the 15 January at the Estudi General Exhibition Room of the Cultural Centre La Nau of the Universitat de València. The exhibition is also complemented with educational workshops and free guided tours.
