The first activity of the '80th Birthday of the Spanish Civil War Cycle' will take place today, 26th March, at 7.30 p.m.: a lecture by Javier Navarro, professor at the Universitat de València, entitled Long Shadows. Public memory of the Spanish Civil War 1936-1939'. On the 3^rd of April, the second lecture entitled 'Republic, republicanism and republicans' will be given by Ricard Camil Torres, also a professor at the Universitat de València. On the 10th, Marc Baldó, professor at the Universitat, will give the lecture 'Spanish Republicans to the Nazi Camps: Victims and Victimizers'. The season will continue throughout the months of May and June. All the conferences will be held at 7 p.m.

Among other topics, this series of debates will deal with issues such as repression in the different stages of Franco's regime, the role of women in the Republic and the dictatorship, the films illustrating that time or the war in València and the Valencian Community.
