After fourteen years of activity, with fourteen shows premiered and more than 300 performances throughout Spain, Escena Erasmus has been the company chosen to perform at the closing day of the 35th anniversary of the Erasmus + program, organised by the European Commission. The show 'The desire of youth' was performed on December 14th in Brussels.

The Erasmus + Program the most popular and concrete of the European Union, has thirty-five years of framework, and since 2014 is the only one through which the EU implements all its European integration policies. The most popular part of the Erasmus + program is the one that allows university students to carry out part of their studies in another European university, and Valencia is the European city that repeats more Erasmus.

Partly for this reason, since 2009 the University of Valencia promotes the Escena Erasmus project, which allows students to actively participate in the culture of the city that welcomes them. Escena Erasmus, Distinction of the Valencian Generality 2021, Honorary award of the European Patronage of Performing Arts and Music PEARLE in 2018, or Carlemany Youth Prize of the European Parliament in 2011, is one of the Valencian cultural projects with more relentlessness, stability and projection. Since years ago, and with its headquarters at the University, the project has been expanding throughout Europe and is currently also being developed in Pamplona, Caller, Padua, Catania, or Marburg, and it is start working in Łódź and Ljubljana this year.

Escena Erasmus, thanks to the sponsorship of the Department of Culture of the Provincial Government of Valencia, produces a theatre show that tours through several Valencian towns. The tour is extended by the IVAJ to the student audience of Alicante and Castellon, and by the AVANT Agency to towns at risk of depopulation. Every year, Escena Erasmus visits 25 towns.

This year's show, The desire of youth, written by Guada Sáez, Maribel Baiona, Anna Marí, Mohamed Dourasse and Daniel Tormo, and directed by Josep Valero, will take to the stage of The Egg Cultural Center in Brussels on December 14. The show, which will be seen in the Belgian capital in its original version in Valencian and Spanish, will be accompanied by English subtitles.

The representation will be attended by the founders of the Erasmus Program, several European commissions, and representatives of all EU states. In addition to the directors of the project (Anna Marí, Daniel Tormo and Josep Valero), the company will be accompanied by the Vice Rector for Culture and Society, Ester Alba; the Vice Rector for Internationalization and Multilingualism, Carles Padilla; and the Rector's Delegate for Students, Manuel González.
