The European Theatre Project Escena Erasmus of the Universitat de València will present its latest show, ‘Una història de por,’ on a tour in Valencia, Alicante and Geldo. This show has already been seen by more than 8,000 people. With this initiative, they will be celebrating the Performing Arts Honour Award, awarded in November by the Cultural Institute of the Valencian Government.

For this reason, the Directorate General of Culture of the First Vice-presidency and the Department of Culture and Sport of the Valencian Government have decided, together with the Universitat de València, to launch a tour to celebrate the award, coinciding with the end of the Valencian Cultural Capital.

The tour celebrating the award will present the latest Escena Erasmus show, ‘Una història de por,’ written by Anna Marí and Daniel Tormo, and directed by Josep Valero; all three, co-directors of the Escena Erasmus project. This show has already been seen by more than 8,000 people during 2023, thanks to the touring programmes of ‘Las Pequeñas Europas’ (Department of Culture of the Valencian Provincial Council), ‘M’importa’ (Valencian Institute for Young People – IVAJ) and ‘AVANT’ (Agenda Valenciana Antidespoblament – Valencian Government).

‘Una història de por’ reflects on fear as a comedy: fear is “a necessary feeling that allows us to be alert to potential real dangers.” “Today, Europe faces its old monsters: drums of war and death thunder once again throughout the continent. The darkness brought on by the bombs reminds us that human life is fragile, sometimes even miserable, and riddled with fear,” say the coordinators of the project.

You can enjoy the shows of Escena Erasmus at the La Nau Cultural Centre of the Universitat de València (11 and 12 December at 19:00), at the Arniches Theatre in Alicante (13 December at 19:30) and at the Espacio Escénico Multiusos ‘Las Escuelas’ in Geldo (14 December at 18:30). Tickets for the show in Valencia can be obtained on the website of the Tenda de la Universitat de València. The shows in Alicante and Geldo are free entry until full capacity is reached.
