The Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol) of the University of Valencia is hosting the ‘Early Career Symposium on Advanced Molecular Materials (ECSAMM)’ on 27 and 28 March. This event aims to promote interdisciplinary scientific collaboration among master’s students, doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers involved or interested in the study of advanced molecular materials.

This marks the first edition of this meeting for early-career researchers, designed to promote scientific progress in the field of molecular materials through multidisciplinary collaboration among master’s students, doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers from both the University of Valencia and external institutions.

The symposium, taking place in the auditorium of the Cabecera Building at the Science Park of the University of Valencia, is free to attend and and brings together nearly 150 participants. It includes two poster sessions and at least 20 presentations lasting 5, 20 or 30 minutes, delivered by young researchers from the very diverse ICMol research groups.

The scientific programme, aligned with the main research areas of this institute — recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities as a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence — is covering topics such as 2D materials, MOFs, molecular spin, materials for electronics or energy applications, molecular biomaterials, sustainability and environmental science. Additionally, the symposium include networking cocktail sessions accompanied by poster presentations to encourage direct interaction and collaboration.

Further information and registration are available on the ICMol website.
