The Language Policy Service of the University of Valencia and the Vives Network have launched this year an initiative for the promotion of auto centred multilingualism. The Vives Campus of Multilingualism offers a series of free workshops of several languages and cultures addressed to staff, students and the university community of the Network. In total, there are eighteen workshops of language and culture: Armenian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, Romanian, Italian, French and English. Moreover, there is a general workshop of introduction to Slavic languages. The objectives are to promote the knowledge of the language and culture of the workshop, the valued of multilingualism and the status of Valencian as the main language of the academic activity. The working languages are the language that is being taught in each workshop and Valencian.
The workshops are intensive and they will take place from 3 to 27 July, from Monday to Friday. The daily sessions will last 90 minutes and it will take place at the Tarongers Campus. More than 900 individuals of the universities of Valencia, Rovira i Virgili, Politécnica de Valencia, Jaume I and Alicante are enrolled but there are still vacancies left in several languages.
