The women and men’s teams of rugby of the Universitat de València played this week the first day of the Autonomic Championship of University Sports (CADU) held at Miguel Hernández University.
The women’s rugby team, led by Ana Aigneren, played the three matches at Juan Antonio Samaranch pitch, closing their action with two victories, one of them against Univesitat Jaume I (UV 37 - 0) and the second against Cardenal Herrera University (UV 57 - 7 UCH). The women fell against University of Alacant, scoring 12 touchdowns, in front of the 37 touchdowns the opponents from Alicante.
The men’s rugby team of the Universitat of Valencia played their matches in the Ciudad Deportiva de Elche. The men didn’t manage to score any touchdowns in the first match against the Universitat Politècnica de València (UV 0 - 17 UPV). In the rest of the matches of the day, the team led by Marcos Armiñana managed to overcome the competing universities: UV 31 - 10 UCH, UV 26 - 10 UA and UV 46 - 0 UMH.
2nd CADU’s concentration day
The rugby teams of UV will play the second day of concentration on 4 December.
