Hundred of news and three presentations of the Universitat de València in the 53 Book Fair, which is held from 26 April to 6 May

La Llibreria and Publications of the Universitat de València return to be present at the Book Fair of Valencia. It is one of the most important events of the cultural calendar of the city, organised by the Booksellers Guilds in the traditional place of Jardines de Viveros. The Fair takes places from tomorrow Thursday 26 April to Sunday 6 May. The Universitat de València will be in the 7 and 8 stands.

This year more than a hundred of editorials published in this academic year will be available to the public. In-house publications, joint publications and other editorials from faculties and departments are a sample of all the content that will be exhibited. It will be also offered a collection of publications of the universities that are part of the Xarxa Vives d’Universitats, as well as a selection of university novelties which are available at La Llibreria de la Universitat.

The presentations organised by the University are the following:

Wednesday 2 May, at 19:30h, at the Sala Museo 1, is expected the act entitled Escritura, género y feminismo. It will present the books Medio ambiente y salud. Mujeres y hombres en un mundo de nuevos riesgos of Carme Valls-Llobet; Género, desde una perspectiva global, of Raewyn Connel and Rebeca Pearse; and Sacred Femininity and the Politics of Affect in African American Women's Fiction, of Vicent Cucarella Ramón.

Interventions by: Carme Valls-Llobet, politician and doctor specialized in medicine with gender perspective; Alicia Puleo, philosopher and director of the collection Feminismos; Arantxa Grau and Almudena Navas, translator of the book Género; Vicent Cucarella, professor of English Studies; and Juan Pérez Moreno, editor of PUV.

Thursday 3 May, at 19:30h, in the Sala Museo 1, will be the moment of news of the Universitat de València: Fenomenología de la experiencia estética, of Mikel Dufrenne; La riqueza invisible del cuidado, of María Ángeles Durán; Iacobi primi instrumenta in archivo sedis Valentinae asservata, preliminary study of Francisco Gimeno. The news of the collection Fuentes Históricas Valencianas are Capbreu de la Confraria d’Òrfenes a Maridar de València (segles XIV-XVII) and Els llibres de Consells de la vila de Castelló I (1374-1383).

Interventions by: Mavi Mestre, principal of the Universitat de València; Romà de la Calle, full university professor of Aesthetic and director of the collection Estética&Crítica; María Ángeles Durán, honorary doctor of the Centre of Human and Social Sciences of CSIC; Vicent Pons, archivist of Cathedral of Valencia and professor of Medieval History and Historiography Science and Techniques; Antoni Furió, director of the collection Fuentes Históricas Valencianas and full university professor of Medieval History and Historiography Science and Techniques.

Friday 4 May, at 19:30h, in the Sala Museo 1, the novelties of the Office of the Vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation will be presented. With the titles Músicas populares, sociedad y territorio. Sinergias entre investigación y docencia, of Ana M. Botella and Rosa Isusi-Fagoaga, coords.; Territorio valenciano, territorio runner, of Víctor Agulló, coord.; Cambio laboral y políticas inclusivas, of María Belén Cardona, coord.; and Valencia y su economía: un modelo sostenible es posible, of Amparo Cervera, coord.

Botella, professor of Teaching of Musical, Visual and  Corporal Expression and vice-dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training; Víctor Agulló, professor of Sociology and Social Anthropology; María Belén Cardona, full professor of Labour and Social Security Law and member of Institute of Human Rights; Amparo Cervera, full professor of Marketing and Market Research, co-director of Sustainable Economic Model Chair of Valencia and its environment (Mesval) and director of the Institute of International Economics.
