Jesús V. Albert has won the Sapiens Académico Award given by the Colegio Oficial de Ingeniería Informática

Jesús V. Albert is a professor of the Department of Computing at the School of Engineering of the Universitat de València (ETSE-UV). He has received the Sapiens Académico Award given by the Colegio Oficial de Ingeniería Informática of the Valencian Community (COIICV) within the framework of IT Week.

The jury has valued his academic experience, his academic management of tasks and his contribution to the implementation of an electronic administration in the Universitat de València.

The Award Ceremony took place at the Oceanogràfic de Valencia. The awards honour professionals, companies and public administrations that stand out by the ethical and social use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and contribute to the assessment of the profession.

Several figures were present in the event. The Councilman of Taxes and Economical Model of the Valencian Government, Vicent Soler, spoke about the challenge of the Valencian Community “to accept the change in the productive and economical model and come into terms with the new horizons that ICT entails.”

Jesús Albert Blanco is a tenured professor in the field of Computing and AI Sciences at the Universitat de València. He has participated in more than 20 national and international projects of research, and he is a well-considered professor as well. He has been employed in several jobs of academic responsibility in the last 20 years: first Director of the Department of Computing of the Universitat de València and Assistant Manager of ETSE-UV. He was in charge of the definition and implementation of the first graduate degrees in Computing Sciences at the Universidad de Valencia adapted to the EHEA.

During the last 8 years, he has been Delegate of the Principal of the Universitat de València for ICT. Therefore, he was in charge of the introduction of the electronic administration, its adaptation to the National Security Framework and the technological transformation of the management systems of the University.
