The sessions began with a lecture by Ximo Guillem entitled 'De las fumigaciones cyanhídricas al DDT'. At 12 o'clock, Rafaela Domínguez and Mª José Báguena will talk about 'The relations between Spain and Germany in turn to the investigation and production of the antidiphtheritic serum (1918-1945)'.  Next, Lucia Pozzi analysed the 'current lines of research of the Sassari group'.  And María Eugenia Galiana and Eva Trescastro spoke on 'Alimentación, entorno y salud: la salud comunitaria en la lucha contra las ailencias de la miseria y la pobreza'.

In the afternoon, Joan Lloret spoke about 'artificial lactation: debates and controversies in the Spanish and Valencian press 1915-1970'.

Health in Society is a research group dedicated to the history of public health and nutrition in 20th century Europe, with special attention to the role of international agencies.  The latest projects financed by official public institutions were devoted to Health Policies in Europe in the 20th century, International Health and Transfer of Scientific Knowledge, Spanish Health in an International Context:  Health Conferences, Society of Nations, Social Movements and International Organisations, Spanish Health during the inter-war period (1919-1946).

The researchers of Sanhisoc / Health in Society have participated in conferences of the European Association for the History of Medicine and Health (EAHMH), the European Association for the History of Social Sciences (ESSHA), the European Association of Historical Demography, the Bergen Workshops for the History of History, Health and Medicine, Spanish Society for the History of Medicine, Catalan Society for the History of Medicine, Catalan Society for the History of Science and Technology.
