From 19 to 29 February, 16,074 high school and higher education students took part in the Visits to the Universitat of the Conèixer programme and filled the campuses of Burjassot, Els Tarongers, Blasco Ibáñez and Ontinyent to learn about the educational offer and services of the Universitat de València. According to the survey carried out among the students participating in the visits, 97.2% would recommend them to other future students.

The survey carried out during the visits, promoted by the Academic Trajectories Delegation and the Information and Promotion Service for Students (Sedi), aims to evaluate the impressions of the students who have attended the Visits to the Universitat 2024. Of the total number of visitors, a significant number completed the survey, providing sufficient data on the assessment of future university students who need to learn more about the degrees they are interested in, as well as the facilities and services offered by the Universitat.

The overall results of the survey show that the experience of the Visits to the Universitat is very positive for future students. Of the dimensions analysed, the most positive evaluations were given to the Conèixer guides (the students from each centre who volunteer as University guides), with 95.9% positive evaluations. Next, the most highly rated item was the university facilities and spaces, with 92.1% of favourable opinions, followed by the talks given on the degrees offered by each faculty or school, with 88.4% positive ratings. Thus, 97.2% of the pre-university students surveyed would recommend the Visits to the Universitat as a positive and useful experience.

Els Tarongers campus was the most visited

Out of the more than 16,000 students who visited the UV, 6,199 came to the Tarongers campus, becoming the most visited this year. This campus is also home to the centre with the highest number of visitors, the Faculty of Economics, which received 2,391 students. The Blasco Ibáñez campus was visited by 5,693 students, the Burjassot campus by 4,095, and the Ontinyent campus by 87.

On the Blasco Ibáñez campus, the centres with the most visitors were the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry; Language Studies, Translation and Communication; Physical Activity and Sport Sciences; and Psychology and Speech Therapy. On the Els Tarongers campus, the Faculty of Economics, followed by the Faculty of Teaching, and in Burjassot, the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV) and the faculties of Biological Sciences and Physics.

Ontinyent, which for the first time has joined the Visits to the Universitat of the Conèixer programme, received 87 students, who visited its facilities and got to know the four degrees it offers: Nursing; Business Administration and Management (ADE); Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CAFE); and Preschool Education.

The Visits to the Universitat of the Conèixer programme, now in their 28th year, are an initiative of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Studies coordinated by the Student Information and Promotion Service (Sedi) and are possible thanks to the teams involved in the eighteen centres that simultaneously host the visits. In addition, other services, such as the libraries, the language self-learning centres and the Natural History Museum, also collaborate in this initiative.

The Conèixer programme also includes the Information Day for guidance professionals that has already been held (the recordings are available on the Conèixer website) and the information session on access and admission to the Universitat, which will take place in June and which deals with pre-enrolment, enrolment and fees or waiting lists, among other issues of interest to future students.
