The debate, which was part of the cycle "Embajadores de cultura", was presented and moderated by the president of the Asociación de Antiguos Colegiales-Sant Joan de Ribera Hall of Residence at Burjassot, Santiago Pastor Vila. The colloquium was held in the Aula Magna of La Nau Cultural Centre.

The speaker talked about the career of the art historian, film critic and museologist Tomàs Llorens Serra (Almazora, 1936). A graduate in Law and in Philosophy and Arts, he was the driving force behind the creation of three major Spanish museums: the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS), the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Institut Valencià d'Art Modern (IVAM), of which he was the first director. Author of numerous articles and essays on art criticism such as “Nacimiento y desintegración del cubismo: Apollinaire y Picasso” (Eunsa, 2021), he was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2007.

Guillermo Solana Díez (Madrid, 1960) holds a PhD in Philosophy and is a professor of Aesthetics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In addition to publishing several works on the history of criticism, he has worked as an art critic and since 2015 has held the post of artistic director of the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. At this leading institution he has curated, among other exhibitions, “Van Gogh: los últimos paisajes” (2006), “Lágrimas de Eros” (2009), “Heroínas” (2011), “Antonio López” (2011), “Pissarro” (2012), 'Cézanne site/non-site' (2014) and 'Renoir y la intimidad' (2016). Currently, the critic has curated the exhibition “La máquina Magritte”, on show at the Thyssen until January 2022.
