Vanessa Paredes Gallardo is the first Spanish orthodontist to receive the 2018 CDABO Caso Report of the Year Award. This is a unique award that is given annually to the first signing person of the best clinical article that has been published the previous year in a magazine within the JRC list American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Vanessa Paredes will obtain the award on May 5 in Washington. It is the 118th edition of the annual congress that American scientists celebrate. Usually, around 17.000 people attend the event.

The Award is given by the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics (CDABO). It is formed by the holders of a diploma that are part of the Association of American Orthodontists. It is given annually to the best article published in the prestigious magazine American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

The quality of the article, the complexity of the clinical case, the quality of the results and its originality are valued. 

This is the first time that this award is given to a Spaniard or European person since it was created in 2004. It has always been given to orthodontists of other nationalities.
