During three days, a hundred students will participate in this oratory competition that looks to empower the use of words, dialogue and exchange of ideas, as well as creating a space of formation where our language is used. This year, the student body debates about the next question: “Should we regulate social media to fight misinformation?”. A polemical and current topic in which they will have to defend the both positions.

In the final phase of the Debate League of Secondary School and High School, that will take place in the Residence Hall Rector Peset of the University of Valencia, we will find the schools that won the previous local phases, celebrated in the reference universities.

The first two days will be the eliminatory round with all the participant teams, and in the last day, the two teams that classified with the highest amount of points will face each other. The jury of the competition, formed by professionals experts in various knowledge fields, will have in mind during their evaluation skills like team work, the solidity of the arguments, the fluidity of the interventions, the quality of the speech, as well as formal aspects of the exposition and the staging. On the deliberation, the jury will decide the winning team, the runner-up, and the best speaker of the league.

The participant teams in the Debate League of Secondary School and High School of the Xarxa Vives have worked on the preparation of the debates during this year in the classrooms, which will have helped strengthen transversal competences like teamwork or oral skills for their professional future.
