This is the end of a great season for the UV players, in which they were crowned champions of the Valencian Community.

The Spanish University Beach Volleyball Championship was held in Alicante this week. The Universitat de València participated in both women’s and men’s category.

The men’s pair, Blai Vilanova Alapont and Jordan Fleischer, had just won the Autonomous University Sports Championship and taken bronze at the Spanish Championship.

Despite competing at a high level, the women’s team, Marie Makovcová and Vendula Zajícová, could not get past the quarter-finals. Both pairs are trained by coach Juanjo Susín.

Interestingly, all four players in the beach volleyball team are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences. They are also all Erasmus students, with the exception of Blai Vilanova. Jordan has a German background, while Marie and Vendula come from the Czech Republic.
