The two plots will allow for the expansion of the campus facilities located in the Vall d'Albaida region. The University and the City Council took advantage of the meeting to review the current situation of the campus and to share future objectives.

The principal of the Universitat de València, Mavi Mestre, has visited today the Mayor of Ontinyent, Jorge Rodríguez, after meeting with Ontinyent Campus the university community. The principal held a working meeting with the mayor in the town hall, where they reviewed the current situation of the campus and the possibilities of expanding the number of degrees taught in the city and the activities that are developed. At present, Ontinyent offers the following degrees: Nursing, Preschool Education, Physical Activity and Sports Science, and Business Management Administration. In addition, and once it receives the approval of the ANECA, the Ontinyent campus will host the official master's degree in General Health Psychology next year.

During the meeting, which was also attended by José Pla and Vicent Penadès, president and general director of Caja Ontinyent, respectively, the principal informed the Mayor of Ontinyent of her willingness to study the introduction of another degree at the Ontinyent Campus, with the aim of completing the academic offer, which currently enjoys a high demand, as evidenced by the fact that all degrees have waiting lists. For his part, the mayor thanked the principal for her involvement in the Ontinyent Campus, and said that the council will continue to collaborate financially in the implementation of new degrees, as it has been doing so far with the invaluable collaboration of Caja Ontinyent.

The presence of the principal in Ontinyent has been used to sign before a notary the free transfer by the city council to the Universitat de València of two plots that will allow the expansion of the campus facilities. These are two plots, one of them from the former El Punt factory, located on Avenida Torrefiel, which cost Ontinyent City Council 380,000 euros. A green area and a recreational area for the students of the university campus have been created in the resulting space.
