Activitats Esportives

The Physical Education and Sports Service of the UV has opened the enrolment period to subscribe to more than 40 sporting activities. The offer includes aquatic disciplines, aerobics, rhythmic gymnastics, martial arts, keep-fit exercises, muscle-building or exercises related to the maintenance of health, such as yoga, pilates and stretching and muscle chains, the three most demanded until today.

Most activities will be held in the three university campus (Blasco Ibáñez, Tarongers and Burjassot-Paterna) and to have access, people have to subscribe through the web of the Service through auto-registration.

The activity period starts on 1 February and finishes on 31 May: it is the call for the second four-month period of the academic year 2016-2017, where we can find outdoors sports, such as tennis, paddle tennis and golf, or, in case of aquatic activities, canoeing, surfing, sailing or windsurf; aerobic sports (aerobics, aerobox, aerobic-GAC, aerotone, etc.); rhythmic gymnastics (zumba fitness, bollywood, African, classical, neoclassical, contemporary and oriental dances, flamenco, etc.); martial arts (aikido, capoeira, karate); or health disciplines (pilates, yoga, tai chi, etc.).

This offer, aimed at promoting healthy sporting activities, is addressed both to the members of the university community (to the Alumni UV too) and to the general public interested in carrying out physical activities.

Due to the good reception of the activities related to health maintenance, two new disciplines have been introduced this year: chi kung (relaxation) and shiatsu (a massage technique). On the other hand, outdoors aquatic activities continue being vitally important due to their allure, above all, to the university student body.
