The last day of the Benvinguda to the Universitat 2022-2023 has been celebrated in a good atmosphere and with music of La Trocamba Matanusca in the Ontinyent campus. The four days have concluded. Not only have they celebrated the arrival of students and the new course, but they have also been useful so as to show the initiatives that are offered by the university services and the participation proposals of associations and students groups. All of this took place in a relaxed and close atmosphere between the university community.

The students of the Ontinyent campus of the degrees of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, Business Management and Administration, Nursing and Preschool Education participated in the last day of the Benvinguda UV. University services staff and members of different student associations went to this campus by bus. Their aim was to present to the students the different proposals and initiatives that the Universitat de València offers them: aid to the sociocultural activities organised by students, voluntary work, grants, travel grants, support for people with disabilities, equality initiatives, diversity and sports, participation in European projects and more activities that share the purpose to improve the university life of the students.

The Delegate of Students, Manuel González, was delighted that “Ontinyent has finally had a Benvinguda like the rest of campus” and expressed his gratitude for “the cooperation of the Vall de Albaida University Foundation for its organisation and of the all services and associations that went from the València campus to Ontinyent for improving the campus and welcoming the Ontinyent students”.

Welcome to the Universitat: mass participation

The Benvinguda to the Universitat has been held between 18 and 27 October in each of the campus of the Universitat de València. It has been useful as a meeting point for the university community and as a chance to stablish contact with other students. The principal of the Universitat, Maria Vicenta Mestre, attended the Benvinguda UV of all campus and has been able to confirm the good acceptance that the initiative has, not only between students but also between the services and associations that were involved.

The Delegate of Students has underlined “the enthusiastic reception by students that filled the four campus with participation and good atmosphere” and has valued the positive and thankful comments by students of the first and advanced years.

Apart from the meeting points and from the places for having horchata or granizado, each of the events had a musical performance: Isma Romero, Cactus, Niuss and La Trocamba Matanusca. In this way, according to the Delegate, “the tradition of counting on valencian musical groups that made the Benvinguda even more festive” have been recovered. Manuel González put forward that the idea for future editions is to repeat this type of Benvinguda “making compatible the musical performance with the activity of each campus so as to the Benvinguda could be for everyone”.

González has also expressed his gratitude for the excellent work of the university services, the students associations and the University Ombuds Office, and for “the good atmosphere and excitement” for those who have been involved in the Benvinguda UV initiative that is organised by the delegate for students through the SeDi Information and Promotion Service.
