Pension, emerging contaminants or Valencian silk industry, on the conferences for Unisocietat

A total of 8 professors from the Universitat de València will give talks in Quart de Poblet, Paterna, Ontinyent, Requena, Massamagrell, l’Eliana, Cullera and Alzira along April. This supplementary activity of the academic course for UNISOCIETAT is free for the rest of neighbours from de locality and the surroundings.

These talks present several topic which have as a common link their interest to Valencian society: pensions, welfare state, popular trials, Valencian silk industry, emerging contaminants, the communicative scene in the Valencian country, ancient history or contemporary literature.   

First conferences of April will be celebrated the next Thursday 7. In the Cultural Centre of Quart de Poblet, the professor Ricardo Franch (Modern History-UV) will focus his speech in Valencian silk industry during the Modern Age. The same day, Caixa Ontinyent Cultural Centre holds the conference “Justice and confidence: the people’s court vs the Tribunal de las Aguas” given by professor Virginia (Administrative and Procedural Law-UV).

On the 14 there will be conferences in Requena and Paterna headquarters. Yolanda Picó (Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Health, Food Sciences, Toxicology and Forensic Medicine-UV) will offer a talk entitled ‘The problem of emerging contaminants’ in the Multi-purpose Centre Valentín Hernáez of Paterna In Feliciano Antonio Yeves Cultural Space of Requena, Carlos L. Alfonso (Labour and Social Security Law-UV) will speak about the maintenance the Welfare state.

On the 19 April in Massamagrell Cultural Centre, professor María del Carmen García (Social Work and Social Services-UV) will explain the alternatives around contributory pensions and non contributory pensions. 

Guillermo López (Language Theory and   Communication Sciences) will focus his intervention, on the 20 in Adult Education Centre of Eliana on the new communication and the political change at the Valencian Country.

On the 27 of this month, professor Antonio C.Ledo (History of Antiquity and Written Culture-UV) will give the talk ‘My name is Gladiator’ in the Municipal Auditorium of Cullera. Next day, on 28, it will be the turn of UNISOCIETAT-Alzira, where María Rosell (Hispanic Studies-UV) will share the talk ‘Mask of the author of comtemporary literature’.

The cycle of conferences ‘Unisocietat, spring 2016’ has been organised by the Vice-Principal for Territorial   Projection and Participation, with the collaboration of the local governments for  Ontinyent, Quart de Poblet, Cullera, Massamagrell, l’Eliana,  Gandia, Alzira, Paterna and Requena, and the financial support for Caixa Popular. Its purpose is to complement academic courses of the programme ‘Unisocietat’, which bring more than 1.2000 enrolled in 2015-2016 students together.
