Recital-talk with Pablo Carbonell at the cycle ‘Músiques Urbanes’ of the Universitat de València

The singer, comedian, show host and actor Pablo Carbonell will take part next Thursday, 7 March, on a recital-talk at 19:00 at the Wisdom Chapel of the Cultural Centre La Nau of the Universitat de València. Under the name ‘Where were you in 1980?’, the irreverent artist from Cadiz will talk about music and the social impact that ‘la movida’ had. He will be accompanied by Manuel de la Fuente, coordinator of the ‘Músiques Urbanes’ cycle and professor of Audiovisual Communication of the Universitat de València. Moreover, Carbonell will perform some of his songs related to that era.

In the early '80s, Pablo Carbonell formed a duet together with Pedro Reyes, which brought him to participate on ‘La Bola de Cristal’, on TVE. In 1984, he formed the band Toreros Muertos, whose first period lasted until 1992.

The singer has also collaborated a number of times with El Gran Wyoming in TV shows such as ‘La noche se mueve’, ‘El peor programa de la semana’, and ‘Caiga quien caiga’. In addition to his appearances as a journalist, he also worked in a variety of film and led ‘El Intermedio’, aired on La Sexta, since September 2008 and until January 2009.

Carbonell also obtained the award for best actor at the Malaga Film Festival and a nomination at the Goya Awards in the new actor category for the film ‘Atún y chocolate’.

Currently, he combines his recording works at 18 Chulos Records with theatre, series and films as an actor, screenwriting, and directing.

‘Músiques urbanes’ is a cycle organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society of the UV that offers a diverse programme that includes genres from rock to jazz and other contemporary proposals.
