The Institute for Molecular Science (ICMol) of the Universitat de València hosts the 17th edition of the European School on Molecular Nanoscience (ESMolNa) in Cuenca this week. An annual meeting between scientists of excellence and young researchers that acts as the culmination of the Inter-university Master’s Degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

Molecular nanoscience is an area in which molecular chemists, biologists, physicists and engineers interested in advances in supramolecular chemistry, molecular electronics, and magnetochemistry meet. The 17th European School of Molecular Nanoscience (ESMolNa2024), to be held from 17 to 24 May in Cuenca, aims to provide a suitable framework for a wide-ranging discussion on the current state and status of these multidisciplinary areas.

Organised by the ICMol of the Universitat de València and the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), and mainly addressed at postdoctoral researchers and postgraduate students, the school aims to encourage the meeting and discussion between scientists of excellence and younger researchers. ESMolNa entails the culmination of an three-week intensive advanced course organised within the framework of the Master’s Degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

This year's programme includes the 10th Workshop on 2D Materials (W2DM2024), which will take place on 23 and 24 May 2024. It is a workshop on graphene and other 2D materials with multiple properties, including superconductivity and magnetism.
