Román Gubern talks about “the trans-medial era” tomorrow Wednesday at the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication

‘Past and present in the trans-medial era’ is the title of the conference given by Román Gubern this Wednesday (17 May) at the Universitat de València. Gubern concludes with his intervention the Master’s Degree in Interculturalism, Communication and European Studies. The conference will start at 17:00h at the Salón de Grados of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication.

Román Gubern is a writer, historian and expert in the culture of image. His studies about global cinema, Spanish cinema, comic language, new technologies and pornography were pioneer in Spain. He is emeritus full university professor of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and honorary doctorate by the Carlos III University of Madrid (2013). He has also worked as a researcher in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has been professor at the Harvard, Yale, Sothern California, La Sorbonne universities as well as the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Likewise, he has been director of the Cervantes Institute in Rome and president of the Spanish Association of Cinema Historians.
