Registration for the following educational tours around the Valencian region is already open. From February to May, Erasmus and international students of the Universitat de València will have an opportunity to discover cultural and environmental heritage of the iconic places of the Valencian province.

The organisers planned tours to the following towns: Requena (on 22th February), la Ribera Alta (on 7th March), Bocairent (on 4th April), and L’Horta de València (on 16th May). The programme gives the students an opportunity to discover the towns of our province through educational trips, which include travel to the place, guided tour around the historical sights and natural landscapes, and the local gastronomy.

The routes have both educational and entertaining components due to a variety of the planned activities. In Requena, the students will see the Villa centre and visit the wine cellars to learn about the winemaking tradition in the region. In la Ribera Alta, they will explore the history of oranges and their origins, as well as their influence on culture, art, and economy of Valencia. In Bocairent, they will visit the Medieval Quarter and “Covetes dels Moros” (the Moorish Caves), also claimed as the National Monument. In L’Horta de València, which belongs to the world agricultural heritage, the students will visit Agromuseu de Vera Foundation and walk around the gardens to learn about the cultivation of chufa (commonly known as the tiger nut) and the production of the Spanish drink of orchata.

The programme Erasmus in the Territory was created by Universitat de València, via the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Society and the Office of the Vice-Principal for Internationalization and Cooperation, in collaboration with the Languages Centre of the UV and the city councils of Carcaixent, Requena, El Puig, Alboraia, Bocairent, and Alzira.

The students of Erasmus and International programmes that are enrolled in second-semester courses at the Universitat de València can register for Erasmus in the Territory trips here.
