Les seleccions es preparen per tornar a la competició autonòmica

After the Christmas holidays, the sports teams of the Universitat de València have resumed their training sessions in order to prepare for the return of the regional competition on 9 February.

The different teams reach the halfway of the league with very good results and the technicians try to put the final touch for the last two seasons, which will give way to the regional finals.

In this sense, the basketball selections, both male and female, are leading the rankings of the Regional University Sports Championship (CADU), where they remain unbeaten after three seasons, pending to face the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón. The next season, when they will face the UPV, will be key for both teams, since it is the direct rival that is, like the Universitat, unbeaten in the competition.

The female handball team also leads unbeaten the autonomic classification, followed by the Universitat Jaume I, which has not suffered any defeat either. For their part, the male team is in the middle of the table. With one win and two defeats, they will have to play good games in the next two days if they want to have an opportunity to qualify for the final round.

The football teams of the Universitat de València also lead the classification. The female team, with a triple tie with the Universitat Jaume I and the University of Alacant, has 4 victories and 0 defeats. The team of J. Andrés Menchero will try to qualify for the final round on 16 February, when it will compete against both teams.

For its part, the male team is in a similar situation, leading the competition with a triple tie with the Universitat d'Alacant and the UPV, with two victories and a single defeat.

The male indoor football team has also achieved very good results in the first phase, leading the competition with two wins and a draw, followed by the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and the UPV. The female team has not been that lucky in the first encounters and is in the middle of the table, with a won match and two defeats.

The rugby and volleyball teams of the Universitat de València are leading unbeaten their respective rankings and, one session away (two for volleyball) from the final round, they stand as strong candidates for the title.

The next appointment will be on Thursday 9 February for the basketball, handball, male football, indoor football and volleyball teams, and on Thursday 16 February for female CP football and rugby.

As on previous university sports occasions, the Physical Education and Sports Service offers live coverage and monitoring of the teams through its social networks (Twitter: @sefuv and www.facebook.com/SEFUV) in which it will provide followers with the most immediate information on the results of the games.
