The Universitat calls for a minute of silence for Laura Luelmo

The rector of the Universitat de Valencia, in the name of the Governing Council of the instution, has called for a minute of silence in the memory of Laura Luelmo Hernández. She was a high profesor and she obtained the Oficial Master in Secondary Education by the Universitat de Valencia in the year 2014-2015. She studied this master’s, necessary to teach in secondary education, in the especialty of drawing.

In the report of the Governing Council of the Universitat de Valencia, the rector of the Universitat has expressed the condolences of the academic institution. The disappearence and tragic end of Laura Luelmo’s life has had a severe impact in the faculty of this master.

The Governing Council has observed a minute’s silence at the beginning of the meeting in memory of Laura Luelmo.

 “We trust in the law enforcement, their eficacy, to clarify the facts that surround her disappearence and death”, has asserted the rector of the Universitat, Mª Vicenta Mentre, who considers that “a premature death is always a tragedy, and even more in this situation”. The rector of the Universitat de Valencia has reaffirmed her position within the academic institution in relation to gender violence, recently reaffirmed in the acts of the last 25N.
