The Universitat celebrates the award ceremony of the UV Olympics 2018-2019

More than 1,400 students of the Valencian Community have participated in the UV Olympics 2018-2019. The modules were Biology, Latin and Greek, Economy, Philosophy, Physics, Geography, Geology, History, History of Art, Maths, Chemistriy and Valencian.

The Universitat de València celebrated on Friday, the 17th of May, at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences , the awards ceremony of the UV Olympics for the students who have won any of the 12 Olympics celebrated by the Universitat de València in the 2018-2019 edition.

The act has been presided over by the Principal of the Universitat de València, Mª Vicenta mestre; the Vice-Principal for  Employment and Educational Programmes, Mª Adela Valero; and by the delegate for the Incorporation to University Mª José Lorente, who have been in charge of handing in the diplomas and certifications to the winners.

The ceremony has been attended by a great number of members of the university, like the coordinators of each of the 12 Olympics of this year or the deans of the Faculties that have organized an Olympic.

In this edition, 2018-2019, more than 1,400 students from different centres of the Valencian Community have taken part in the Olympics organised by the Universitat de València, an event in which they have been able to prove their knowledge and aptitudes.

The Olympics of Biology have celebrated their XVI edition. The 10 winners of this edition were: Marcos Chova García, María Pérez Millet, Michel Muñoz Álvarez, Rubén Badal Górriz, Sara Pérez Martí, Marlon Ortiz Árias, Julia Miñana Olivares, Daniel Sergio Marín Pérez, María Yáñez Hernández and Juan Fernández Revuelta.

106 students have participated in the X Olympics of Latin and Greek and the winners were: George Eduard María, Antonio García de Dios Ramírez, Lucía Garrido Máñez, Lucía Julián Cervera, Nerea Cebrián Lara and María Serra Marín.

David Sanz Escrivá, Juan Vercher Ballesteros, Adrián Magraner Jiménez, Borja Safón Roca, Joan Gil de la Cruz, César Peris Olmedo, Ricardo Elipe Pascual, Claudia Alemany Martínez, Pau Pérez Manzaneda and Carles Espert Navarro have been the winners of the XVII Olympics of Economy, in which 182 students had participated.

The Olympics of Philosophy celebrated their XI edition and 194 students took part in it. The winners were Marc Camañes Muñoz, Carla Castillo Romero and Alan Alcañiz Díaz.

Regarding the Olympics of Physics, these were the winners: Donato Manuel Jiménez Benetó, Ana Isabel Garrigues Navarro, Paloma Del Hierro Jiménez, Carlos Valero García, Raúl Martínez Pavón and Alejandro Atienza Vicedo. These Olympics celebrated their XXX edition and 35 students participated.

The XI Olympics of Geography have been atended by 53 students and the winners were David Carnicero Higón, Diego Sánchez Raya and Azucena Gasch Aparicio.

Ramón Margarit Tornero, Óscar Hernández García, María Sáez Díaz and Azahara Rodríguez Sánchez were the winners of the Olympics of Geology in the celebration of its X edition. 159 students took part in it.

The Olympics of History has counted with 62 students in its sixth edition where José Francisco Ríos Gras, Sara Burguera Escrivá and Juan Bollaín Nuñoz have been the winners.


This year has been the first time of the Olympics of History of Art, which counted with 45 participants and where José Francisco López Blasco, Lledó Magnieto Ventura and Paula Ariza Moreno have been the winners.

 

Regarding the Olympics of Maths, the oldest of them, this year celebrates its 55 edition and has counted with a 77 students where the winners have been: Héctor Sánchis Pérez, Leonardo Costa Lesage, Mateo Miguel Tabernero Fuentes, Jordi Herrero Martínez, Joan Torregrosa Torres and Josep García Sancho.

 

The 32 Olympics of Chemistry counted with 116 participants where David Dejoz Díez, Mar Folgado Grau, Javier Martínez Peco, Cristina Martínez Martínez, Guillermo Arjona Gálvez and Marta Morcillo Martínez have been the winners.

Finally, the Olympics of Valencian counted with 138 students and Rubén Bonilla Amador, Marta Llatas Martínez, Mariola Monfort Barrachina, Amin El Manchoud Jareño, María Millán Perelló and Ainhoa Arroyo Salas have been the winners.

 

In her intervention, the Principal of the Universitat de València, Mª Vicenta Mestre, wanted to congratulate the award-winning students for their endeavour and commitment to an activity like the Olympics of the UV, values that will make them to achieve all their aims. On the other hand, she also thanked to them the joint work of many people, from the coordinators of the Olympics to the professors in the educative centres, for making possible and a reality one more edition of the Olympics of the UV.
