The Universitat de València hosts the Migration and Inclusion Congress in the European Union

The 25th and the 26th of February the conference ‘Migration and Inclusion in the European Unión’, which will deal with the characteristics of the migratory phenomenon and the inclusion opportunities for the society, will be celebrated. Thus, experiences, models, prime examples of migrants integration will be discussed, both from a regional and a European perspective.

The president of the Valencian Government, Ximo Puig; the vice-president of the Council Mónica Oltra; the vice-principal of Innovation and Transference of the Universitat de València, Mª Dolores Real; ant the professor in Law and Political Philosophy of the Universitat de València, Javil Lucas, will intervene in he inaugural session.

Over two days, representatives of the inclusive politics of the Valencian Community and European representatives as well as some experts and lecturers in the field and professionals of the tertiary sector.  All of them will analyse the challenges of the migratory phenomenon and they will discuss about the comprehensive integration of these migrants in our societies and fight against fake news and rumours through workshops and six work tables.

The day will finish on the 26th at 1.00 p.m. after the words of the director or the Representation of the European Commission in Spain, Francisco Fonseca; the State Secretary of Migration, Consuelo Rumí; the regional secretary of Inclusion and of the Valencian Equality Agency, Alberto Ibáñez; and the delegate of the UE Council and Foreign Affairs, Joan Calabuig.

The conference is organised by the Valencian Government in collaboration with the Universitat de València and with the European Programme of Regional Cooperation Interact.
