The Principal, Mª Vicenta Mestre, reminded that the Universitat was present in the RES since it was founded because the former principal, Francisco Tomás, believed in the network. The principals that follow, Esteban Morcillo and Mestre, have ratified the decision. Mestre has also recalled that the facility that contains the new supercomputers LluisVives-2 and Tirant-3 was finished on 28 July. It is located in the Data Processing centre in the Burjassot / Paterna Campus.  

The representative of the Ministry of Science remarked that Scientific Infrastructures and Singular Techniques (ICTS) provides service to all the scientific community. “The state infrastructures offer an optimised service to all the supercomputer users in order to conduct scientific activities with the highest quality,” stated Francisco Herrada.

The director Sergi Girona remarked that the RES is built with the cooperation of all the people involved. Girona underlined that “the objective is improving science with constant updates, but always cooperating and never competing. If not, we all lose.”

The RES organises a yearly meeting of users aiming to favour the exchange of experiences and opinions among users, technicians and coordinators of the RES. Important results of researching projects have been disclosed in the meeting and new information on infrastructures and procedures was provided.

The objective of the RES is offering highly efficient computing resources to the scientific community in order to develop scientific and technological innovative projects of high quality.
