2017 budget settlement

The Governing Council has approved the budget settlement proposal for the accounts of the Universitat de València in 2017. According to the manager, Joan Oltra, they have maintained the expenditure constraint on personnel and ordinary management. They have also tried to fulfil the principles of budgetary stability and debt reduction.

The positive budget result is due to the extraordinary income coming from two sentences in favour of the interests of the University. They were received last year.

The budget law of the Valencian Government for 2017 included a grant of 228.027.840 euros.  On 31 December 2017, 83.011.600 euros of the grant were not yet collected.

The recognised obligations of 2017 fiscal year for personnel expenses are 221.427.208 euros. The state of implementation has been 97. 8 % and the state of compliance has been 97. 2%. Chapter 2 of the statement of expenditure indicates incurred obligations valued in 58.757.190 euros. This represents 15. 6% of the recognised obligations in the tax period. The state of implementation is 82. 9% and the state of compliance is 90. 4%.

Payment to providers has been stablished to 38 days.

The Governing Council has also organised the management board of the language Centre of the university. Accounts and management have been unanimously approved. The manager, Joan Oltra, and the director of the centre, José Martínez Luciano, have explained that the positive balance and the development of enrolment have been stabilized in the current course. As usual, the Language Centre ends the year with benefits (116,000 euros) and 3,500 students.

The new facilities in Serpis Street have already been fully operational for a few months. Management announced that old facilities (Joan Reglà Street) will be closed at the end of the current school year.
