The University recognises the students awarded with the "Premios Nacionales Fin de Carrera" of the academic year 2016/2017

The awards for the best academic records in the first year of studies awarded by the Carmen Izquierdo Besante Foundation were also presented at the recognition ceremony.

The rector of the Universitat de València, M. Vicenta Mestre, with the Vice-Principal of Studies Isabel Vázquez, handed the awards in the name of the UV to the students awarded with the Premios Nacionales Fin de Carrera (National End-of-Degree Awards) of the academic year 2016/2017, granted by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.

In total 12 students from the Universitat de València received this recognition. The first prize went to Tomás Palanques Pastor, a graduate in Human Nutrition and Dietetics; Pablo Martí Rodrigo graduated in Pharmacy; Bruno Benedito Pérez, graduated in Political and Public Administration Sciences; and Joaquín Barceló Orgiler, graduated in History of Art. The second prize went to Maria Saiz Raimundo, graduated in Catalan Philology; Luis Galán Campos, graduated in History; and Pau Cuquerella Miralles, graduated in Law. As for the third prize it went to Rubén Sancho Portolés, graduated in Mathematics; Rafael Mesa Manzano, gradated in Geography and the Environment; Raül López Castelló, graduated in History of Art; Miguel Ángel Gambín Bustamante, graduated in Electronic Engineering for Telecommunications; and Francisco Javier Cabello Murgui, graduated in Medicine.

The awards for the best academic records in the first year of studies awarded by the Carmen Izquierdo Besante Foundation were also presented at the recognition ceremony, which was also attended by the Secretary of the Foundation, Javier Pastor.

The awarded of this edition were Inés Cortell Cerdá, student of the Double Degree in Law + Business Management and Administration; Andrea Ixchel Martínez Marcos, student of the Degree in Hispanic Studies; Ricardo Casañ Alufre, student of the Degree in Medicine; and Ferran Cortés Pérez, student of the Degree in Mathematics.

The rector M. Vicenta Mestre, in her speech, congratulated all the awarded four their work, effort, improvement, and perseverance. She also pointed out that it is a great pride for the Universitat de València that 12 of the best academic records of Spain have been educated at the Universitat.

The Secretary of the Carmen Izquierdo Besante Foundation, Javier Pastor, encouraged the awarded students in the first year of their degree to continue along the path of excellence and do not falter in their work and perseverance, the keys of success in all areas.

The event was attended by several university authorities from the different faculties of the University, who accompanied their students in such an emotional and beautiful moment for them.

Every year the Foundation grants a prize valued in € 500 to the best academic records of first year students and to the ones who have finished the degree in the Universitat de València. With this distinctions the Foundation, whose president is the rector of the Universitat, aims to promote formation and help to eliminate socio-economical inequalities that may exist among students.
